The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 230.21 euros/MWh in December 2021, which is 294.38 % higher compared to the same month in 2020 and 8.31 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 212.55 euros/MWh.
Traded volume in December reached 2.24 million MWh, which is 5.76 % more than in December 2020, and 17.24 % more than in November 2021. Average traded volume in December 2021 amounted to 3,010.7 MWh/h.
The total value of transactions in December amounted to 531.2 million euros, which is by 312.21 % more compared to December last year
(128.87 million euros) and 26.6 % more than in the previous month (419.59 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net
consumption in December 2021 amounted to 42.71 %.
A total of 115,743.5 MWh was traded on intraday market in December (57.72 % more than in December 2020, and 16.67 % more compared to
November 2021), with an average price of 262.41 euros/MWh (287.73 % higher compared to December 2020 and 18.57 % higher compared to the previous month).
Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in December amounted to 1.477 million MWh, with an average price of 66.13 euros/MWh.
