During first two quarters in 2014, total power generation was 36.4 billion kWh, which is an increase of 2.4 billion KWh (+ 7.2%) compared to the corresponding period of 2013.
Electricity production increase was mainly due to increased production by 2.5 billion kWh (+ 7.6%) in power plants which was 15.3 billion kWh, an increase of 1.3 billion KWh (+ 9.4%) compared with same period in 2013.
Production from hydro power plants was 10.7 billion kWh, an increase of 809 million kWh (+ 8.1%) and the production of nuclear electricity was 6.6 billion kWh, a decrease of 43.8 million kWh (-0.7%).
Production of wind power in the first seven months was 2.69 billion kWh, an increase of 23.2 million kWh over the same period last year, while solar photovoltaic produced during this period was 785.4 million kWh, an increase of 459.6 million kWh in the same period of 2013.
Final consumption of electricity in the national economy was 28.9 billion kWh, 1.2% lower than in the corresponding period of 2013, public lighting decreased by 24.9%, while household consumption fell by 1.9%.
Export of electricity was 3.7 billion kWh, an increase of 2.98 billion kWh. Own consumption in networks and stations was 3.7 billion kWh, down 185.5 million kWh, ie 4.7%.
