National Institute of Statistics – INS announced that in the first six months of 2015, final consumption of electricity reached 23.557 billion kWh, 4.9% less than in the same period of 2014.
The increased public lighting 28.7%, while household consumption increased by 4.3%.
Export of electricity was 5.014 billion KWh, up by 2.048 billion KWh, and own technological consumption in networks and stations was 3.363 billion kWh, decreasing by 20.4 million KWh, respectively by 0.6%.
In terms of primary energy resources, statistics show that in the first half, they increased by 3.5% and electricity by 2.6% compared to the same period in 2014.
Increased electricity production was mainly due to increased production, with 506.5 million kWh (1.6%).
Production of thermal power was 12.046 billion KWh, down by 1.308 billion KWh (9.8%). Production from hydropower was 10.022 billion KWh, up by 1.025 billion kWh (11.4%), while that of nuclear power plants was 5.556 billion KWh, down by 34.7 million kWh (0.6% ). Wind power production in the period 1 January to 30 June 2015, there was an amount of 3.045 billion KWh, up by 626.5 million KWh compared to the same period in 2014, and produced solar photovoltaic installations was 808 8 million KWh, up by 197.7 million KWh in the corresponding period last year.
