In the past, the Monsson Group developed the 600MW Fantanele-Cogealac wind farm owned by Czech company CEZ – the biggest such facility in Romania.
Monsson Group, which played a significant role in the launch of the wind industry in Romania, is currently developing 2,000 MW in wind and solar projects, which are in advanced stages.
Business development manager at Monsson-PLC Sebastian Enache said that Romania will be the European Union’s wind and solar pole. The company plans to install wind and solar capacities in the Banat area, Satu Mare, Moldova and others, stressed Enache, adding that many projects are in advanced stages of development.
According to him, Monsson will install about 2,000 MW in wind and solar power combined. Currently, Romania’s operating wind projects total about 3,000 MW while solar projects amount to 1,300 MW.
