Nordic Group, one of the largest Romanian companies in the premium food product distribution sector in Retail, HoReCa and Confectioneries, plans to invest €250,000 to equip two warehouses totaling 3,700 square meters, located in the counties of Giurgiu and Timis, with photovoltaic panels that will annually generate 505 MWh of electricity.
By implementing these two photovoltaic projects, the company will contribute to environmental protection by reducing CO2 emissions by 158.84 tons per year.
The solar energy project developed by Nordic Group consists of two development phases.
The first phase has already been completed and involved equipping the Nordic Group warehouse in the Joita commune, Giurgiu County, with a usable area of 2,800 square meters, with photovoltaic panels that will annually generate 337 MWh of electricity. The proposed installed capacity of the photovoltaic generator is 302 kWp.
By commissioning this photovoltaic project, the company will contribute to environmental protection by reducing CO2 emissions by 106 tons per year and reducing the amount of radioactive waste by 1 kg. In this configuration, 100% of the energy produced by the photovoltaic installation is consumed directly, representing 20.3% of the warehouse’s annual electricity consumption. The energy production resulting from the installation of the photovoltaic system will lead to an investment payback in 2.17 years.
In the second phase, the investment value amounts to €83,500 and involves equipping the Nordic Group warehouse in the Izvin commune, Timiș county, with a usable area of 900 square meters, with a photovoltaic solar system. This project is set to commence by the end of April 2024. The proposed installed capacity of the photovoltaic generator is 159.5 kW, with an annual electricity production of 168 MWh.
In this configuration, 100% of the energy produced by the photovoltaic installation is consumed directly, representing 48% of the warehouse’s annual electricity consumption. The energy production resulting from the installation of the photovoltaic system will lead to an investment payback in 2.38 years.
By commissioning the photovoltaic project in Timiș, the company will contribute to environmental protection by reducing CO2 emissions by 52.84 tons per year and reducing the amount of radioactive waste by 0.5 kg.
