Romania, PATRES calls for quicker approvals for RES projects
, SEE Energy NewsThe Romanian Organization of Renewable Energy Producers (PATRES) urged the authorities to remove the obstacles for quicker approvals of renewable energy and energy storage projects.
The statement from the organization said that investments in renewables, financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and the Modernization Fund, can be completed within the indicated term only if legal solutions are found to expedite approvals for investments in RES projects.
At the same time, PATRES welcomed the decision of the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis to promulgate the legal amendments which allow the construction of solar power plants on poorly fertile agricultural land. Romania will thus produce green energy on arable lands of the 3rd, 4th and 5th quality classes, mostly located on the outskirts of the towns.
