Romanian electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica has signed a technical agreement with Nord Wind Power for the connection to the national electricity network of 129.5 MW wind farm in Iasi County in northeastern Romania.
This is an old project, for which the previous permit expired and now the approval for the connection was renewed. The project’s cost is estimated to around 100 million euros. It is developed by local company Nord Wind Power, but it seems that it will be sold to foreign investor with larger financing potential. It is expected that the wind farm will be commissioned in 2025.
In related news, the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has issued energy permits for several renewable energy projects totaling 138 MW in capacity. The largest among these – 131 MW solar power plant in Arges County is developed by Ecoenergy. The previous developer Portland Trust Renewables, which sold the project to Ecoenergy and Nofar Energy in December, has already obtained capacity connection permit from Transelectrica. The project’s cost is estimated to 120 million euros.
