Romania: US company Quintana minerals interested in Hunedoara energy complex
, SEE Energy NewsThe US oil and gas Quintana Minerals Corporation is interested in privatization of Romanian state company for the coal and electricity production Hunedoara Energy Complex (CEH). US company have been requested more information about the company from the Department of Energy.
The interest of US companies is extremely important. Quintana Minerals Corporation is a mining company with a high profile; it is the second largest holder of coal reserves in the United States. Quintana Minerals Corporation has nearly 6,500 employees working in four mines in the Jiu Valley (Lone Livezeni Lupeni, Vulcan) and two power plants that covered 7 percent of the electricity consumption in the country during last year.
