Montenegrin electricity transmission system operators CGES signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with, Bosnian counterpart NOSBiH, for the reconstruction of 220 kV interconnection Perucica-Trebinje and the construction of a new 400 kV interconnection, Brezna-Sarajevo 20.
Director of NOSBiH Nemanja Pandurevic said that the significance of these projects lies primarily in the increase of transmission capacities. He emphasized that transmission capacities are crucial to accommodate the integration of renewable energy sources. Due to the trend of solar and wind power plants, agreements like this are necessary to enable the network to handle all renewable sources.
Additionally, these interconnections will enhance supply security and network congestion, which are essential for working on the integration of the regional electricity market, a goal outlined in all strategic documents for the Western Balkans.
