Serbia does not inhibit the implementation of the major project “South Stream”, said today the Minister of Energy Zorana Mihajlovic.
She said that it is expected that construction of the pipeline begins in Serbia at the end of this year or the first quarter of next year.
Serbia is not delayingd the realization of this great project, because the state has fulfilled all its obligations, but the agreement between Russia and the EU is expected on the issue of the third energy package, said Mihajlovic on the Regional Economic Summit in Arandjelovac.
Mihajlovic said that the pipeline “South Stream” will be the second route of gas to Serbia.
She reminded that “South Stream” goes through some EU member states, and that Serbia legislation is harmonized with the EU legislation, so it’s a question of the third package, because the Russian side is interested in the project “South Stream” aside from that principle.
Mihajlovic said that in addition to “South Stream” Serbia might previously have direction Nis-Dimitrovgrad for gas supply, which is significant because sources of supply of gas diversify.
Prime Minister Ivica Dacic also said that the construction of the South Stream, which is a project of national importance for Sebia, is to begin by the end of this year.
