Local company Greenco Ekopark is planning a project for the construction of a solar power plant with installed capacity of up to 80 MW near the city of Kikinda in the northern province of Vojvodina.
The plant should be build in the area of the village of Sajan and should stretch over 100 hectares of land. For two years, the investor has been buying individual parcels for the purpose of forming a unified complex whole. The plant’s estimated annual electricity generation is around 120 GWh and the investment in the project should amount to between 60 and 70 million euros.
This year, the city of Kikinda supported the initiative for the preparation of the detailed regulation plan for the construction of this solar project, which encompasses an even greater area, around 150 hectares of infertile land of the lowest quality.
Parallel with the preparation of the regulation plan, the study for the connection of the plant to the electricity network operated by EMS is being prepared as well.
