The Mining and Smelter Basin Bor, dug four million tons of ore in the first quarter of this year, and by processing it, 10 thousand tons of copper in the concentrate were gained, this company reported.
From January to March, 4.75 million tons of overburden were removed, a quarter more than in the same period last year. Production in all three basin mines, compared to the first quarter of 2017, increased by seven percent.
In the Majdanpek copper mine, in 4 months, 4,500 tons of copper was concentrated, or thousand tons more than last year.
At the same time with the excavated about 1 million tons of ore, about 2.40 million tons of overburdens were removed until March. On the other hand, in the three months in the new metallurgical plants, 17.358 tons of anode and 15.580 tons of cathode copper were produced, and gold was given 20% more than planned.”, RTB Bor said.
In the first trimester, selenium recorded the highest jump in relation to the plan, as much as 40 percent, considering that 7,300 kilograms of this product were given. Silver production (1,486 kilograms), palladium (13, 2 kilograms) and blue stone (254 tons) during that period was also over the plan, and sulfuric acid (72,039 tons) at last year’s level.
The sale of all these products, except for the gold that is being surrendered to the National Bank of Serbia, influenced the fact that in the first quarter of this year, RTB achieved for a third bigger export compared to the same period last year.
Foreign exchange inflows from the sale of copper, palladium, selenium, sulfuric acid and blue stones in the first three months amounted to $ 54.3 million.
