MK Group and Fintel Energija launched the construction of wind farm Kula 2 with installed capacity of 10 MW. The new facility will be located in the vicinity of the first wind farm in Serbia – Kula, commissioned in 2015.
Joint statement from the companies said that the wind farm will be completed by the end of the year and it should enter commercial operation in March 2023. Total investment in the project amounts to 17.5 million euros. Estimated annual electricity generation of the future wind farm is 28.6 GWh.
CEO of Fintel Energija Tiziano Giovannetti reminded that the company, together with MK Group, was a pioneer in the field of renewable energy sources and the most important independent producer of electricity in the Serbian market. With three wind farms in operation and a fourth one under construction, investments in green energy projects so far amount to 163 million euros. This way, the two companies have secured 238 GWh of electricity a year, covering the demand of 59,000 households.
CEO of MK Group Mihailo Jankovic said that the two companies are planning joint investment of more than 1 billion euros in the next five years, in order to increase their RES portfolio in Serbia to nearly 1 GW, assisting the country to reach its goal of 40 % energy from renewable sources by 2040.
