Serbian revenue from transit fees and taxes of the South Stream gas pipeline should be around 300 MEUR per year, or a total of 7.7 billion EUR in the next 25 years, said a spokesman for the company South Stream transport, Jasper Jansen.
During a tour of the plant on the Nord Stream at the Baltic coast in Germanyhe told reportersthat about 2,500 peoplecould be hiredon the construction of South Stream through Serbia, worth about two billion EUR.
Jansen said he believed that the South Stream project with a capacity of 63 billion cubic meters of gas per year would provide more Europe’s gas needs, which increased, than any other energy project.
“Demand for gas is rising, Europe now has about 500 billion cubic meters of gas per year, and estimates show that the annual demand for gas until 2030thwould increase for about 100 billion cubic meters”, said Jansen.
