Since 15th May Electric Power Industry of Serbia has purchased 161.27 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of missing electricity for 6.5 MEUR. In the company explained that the stabilization of production in EPS depends on the coal stabilization in the Mining Basin “Kolubara”.
Coal production will dictate the acquisition level of the missing electricity, stand in EPS.
When it comes to the harm that EPS suffered in the recent floods, in that company state that a professional team which is formed at the company level works on damage assessment and that now it is too early to talk about an accurate assessment.
Until the water be pumped from mines, it will not be possible to provide definitive data on the total damage in EPS.
