In 2022, Slovenian wholesale gas supplier Geoplin Group nearly doubled its operating revenues, as a result of higher natural gas prices on the exchanges. Despite that, the company recorded a net loss of 28.4 million euros last year.
Geoplin Group sold 17.4 TWh of natural gas in 2022. That is almost half of the previous year’s volume. The company mainly attributes this decrease to the contraction of trading activities due to high prices and reduced liquidity in the natural gas markets.
The operational revenues amounted to 1.4 billion euros, representing a 92% increase compared to 2021. Sales revenues in the domestic and international markets increased by 80% compared to 2021, reaching 1.3 billion euros. The operating loss was 33.8 million euros and the net loss was 28.4 million euros.
