PJSC “Donbassenergo” and PE “Era Trading” in March 2016 intend to resume commercial supplies of Ukrainian electricity exports to Belarus and Moldova.
National Energy Company “Ukrenergo” in the auction sold five companies access to the interstate power lines with capacity 674 MW for power exports in March.
According to the NEC “Ukrenergo”, in the February 19 auction for access to bandwidth interstate power networks of Ukraine “Donbassenergo” acquired 30 MW “Moldova” and “Belarusian” cross section, and “Era of Trading” – 10 MW to”Moldova”. They did not won the 110 MW section to Moldova and 470 MW – to Belarus.
In addition, during the trading session PJSC “DTEK Pavlogradugol” bought 127 MW of “Polish” section for export in March, and 477 MW cross section for export from energoostrova “Burshtyn TPP” in the direction of Slovakia, Hungary and Romania ,others are “DTEK Pavlogradugol” (384 MW ), Ltd. “Energy” (33 MW), “Donbassenergo” (30 MW), LLC “Global Energy” (20 MW) and the “Era of Trading” (10 MW).
It is noted that the company “DTEK Pavlogradugol” is part of the structure of the energy holding DTEK Rinat Akhmetov, has acquired 511 MW of electricity for export to the EU. Energy generating company “Donbassenergo” acquired 30 MW of capacity to export electricity to the EU, 30 MW – to export electricity to Moldova and 30 MW – in Belarus.
“ERA Trading” (engaged in the import of gas from the EU) acquired a 10 MW electricity for export to the EU and 10 MW – to export electricity to Belarus.
“Global Energy” has acquired 20 MW of electricity for export to the EU, and the company “TEK” has acquired 33 MW of electricity for export sales to the EU.
To recall in August 2013, the competition for the sale of 60.773% of shares of PJSC “Donbassenergo”was won by JSC “Holding Energoinvest” of Igor Gumenyuk at a price of 718.92 million USD. As reported in the media, Gumenyuk acquired this in favor of Alexander Yanukovych. As is known, the IACS Group of son of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych Alexander declares that it is not a shareholder or the owner of PJSC “Donbassenergo” and has nothing to do with the management of the company.
“Global Energy” was founded in 2011 by a Cypriot company “Limited Porrel”. Now “Porrel” remains the major share in the company (75%), however, 15% and 10%, respectively, belongs to Cyprus “Kintuk Holding Limited” and “Morais Investments Limited.” Companies “Kintuk” and “Morais” are co-owners of LLC “Promat”, which was originally founded by “Energy Standard Group SA” Konstantin Grigorishin.
The capacity in the direction of Slovakia (35 kV power transmission line “Uzhgorod-2 – Sobrance”) represented 10 MW and there were no bidders.
As reported, “Ukrenergo” for the first time since November 2014 offered interconnection capacities on the monthly auction for the export of Ukrainian electricity to Moldova and the first time since September 2014 – in Belarus.
Considering significant reduction in electricity consumption by industry and the public consumption, surplus of electricity was generated. In this regard, the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Vladimir Demchishin in early February said that Ukraine could resume full export electricity to Belarus and Moldova in March.
Ukraine exported electricity in 2015 to $ 150,057,000, including Hungary in 2015 the amount of $ 144,907,000, Poland – to $ 2.722 million, Moldova – by $ 1,173,000, in other countries – for $ 1.255 million.
In 2015, Ukraine exported 3.6 billion kilowatt-hours in 2014 – 8.1 billion kWh in 2013 – 9.9 billion kWh in 2012 – 9.7 billion kWh in 2011 – 6.4 billion kWh in 2010 – 4.2 billion kWh in 2009 – 4.1 billion kWh in 2008 – 7.9 billion kWh in 2007 – 9.2 billion kWh in 2006 – 10.4 billion kilowatt-hours in 2005 – 8.4 billion kWh.
