According to the public release of the company, E.ON completed the merger of two distribution companies in the first integrated gas company and electricity distribution on the Romanian market.
The company started its operation from January 1st, and works with over 20,000 kilometers of natural gas distribution network and more than 80,000 kilometers of electricity distribution network for around three million customers.
The connection distribution companies marks the completion of harmonization project activities started in 2009th and compliance with good practices in the E.ON group. The project involves connecting E.ON Moldova Distribution with E.ON Gaz Distributie. This process is aimed at strengthening the long-term effectiveness, which is the result of joint costs optimization.
“The process that has been made in the middle of the energy market liberalization, will further enable them to improve their internal affairs, as well as the ability to increase the quality of services offered in the market”, said Director of E.ON Romania Frank Hajdinjak.
The connection leads to a number of advantages for the company customers, as well as the possibility of creating a single interface to manage outages, new connections to the system, as well as services related to the distribution market, said in a statement.
E.ON Distribution Romania will continue to invest significant amounts in the improvement and expansion of its network, its main aim is to ensure the safety and security of gas and electricity consumers. Since coming to Romania, E.ON has invested more than 1.2 billion EUR, while it paid a similar amount to the state for taxes and other contributions.
