Traded volume in April 2020 was 37 % higher compared to the same month last year. A total volume of 532,352 MWh of electricity was traded on the Croatian energy exchange CROPEX in April 2020, which is 5.5 % more than in March, of which 513,968.8 MWh on the day-ahead market and 18,383.2 MWh on the intraday market. Average daily base price on day-ahead market in April amounted to 23.95 euros/MWh, which is 18.6 % lower than in the previous month, while average euro-peak price reached 24.25 euros/MWh, 24.2 % lower compared to the previous month. The average price on the intraday market was 22.97 euros/MWh (- 18.4 %). There are 20 participants on CROPEX day-ahead market, twelve of which have been active on the intraday market as well. Average daily traded volume on the day-ahead market in April amounted to 17,132.3 MWh. CROPEX was launched on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool, Europe’s leading electricity exchange, and is co-owned by the Croatian electricity transmission system operator (HOPS) and the Croatian electricity market operator (HROTE). Intraday market was launched in April 2017. On 19 June last year, after joint project of Croatian and Slovenian transmission system operators and power exchanges, CROPEX day ahead market was successfully coupled with MRC markets through Croatian – Slovenian border.
