Bosnian state-owned power utility EPBiH adopted the business plan for the 2022-2024 period.
According to the plan, total electricity generation in the three years will amount to 17,238 GWh, while the company’s revenues in 2022 will reach some 700 million euros, with net profit of 13.5 million euros.
EPBiH will invest about one billion euros in the review period, mostly through loans, but also 430 million euros from its own sources.
The plan envisages the start of construction of unit 7 at coal-fired thermal power plant Tuzla, although the project is currently on hold due to the withdrawal of key equipment supplier. The company also plans to start the construction of solar power plants Gracanica and Podvelezje, as well as to continue with the construction of HPP Vranduk (EPBiH recently lost an arbitration over the project ands has to pay damages to Austrian Strabag).
The focus of investments in the coming period should be renewable energy projects in order to increase the share of RES production in EPBiH’s total electricity generation.
