Gross electricity production in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 1,654 GWh in March 2023, compared to 1,441 GWh in the same month of 2022, according to the national Agency for Statistics. In total gross electricity production, hydropower plants participated with the share of 51%, thermal power plants with 47% and solar and wind power plants with 2%.
Net production of hydropower plants amounted to 833 GWh, 106% higher than in the same month last year. Thermal production amounted to 705 GWh, 20% less than last March. Electricity production from renewable sources (wind and solar) reached 34 GWh, 39.% less compared to March 2022.
Electricity imports fell by 17% to 263 GWh in March 2023 from last year’s 318 GWh, while exports rose by 44% to 846 GWh (587 GWh in March 2022).
