Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska (RS) Petar Djokic signed in Belgrade a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the construction of thermal power plant Gacko 2 with representatives of Chinese companies China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and China Poly Group.
The signing was attended by the Prime Minister of RS Milorad Dodik, who said that he is extremely pleased that the memorandum was signed, stressing that the content of this memorandum was initially drafted few months ago.
Minister Djokic pointed out that the memorandum was signed during the visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao to Serbia and reminded that CMEC has already signed a contract with Serbian power utility EPS on the construction of unit B3 at TPP Kostolac. It is up to Chinese partners to, using their methodology and the data gathered at Gacko mining basin, prepare a feasibility study and start the implementation of the project, Djokic added, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
