CEO of Bulgaria’s sole nuclear power plant Kozloduy Nasko Mihov said in an interview that he and his deputy Alexander Nikolov have been dismissed, adding that they will challenge the dismissal in court.
According to Bulgarian media, the decision on the dismissal of NPP Kozloduy’s management was approved by the Board of the parent company, Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) earlier this week.
The Board also appointed Georgi Kirkov as the new CEO and Andrey Krasnocharov as his deputy. However, there is no official confirmation from the Ministry of Energy.
Kirkov is the current deputy mayor of the town of Kozloduy and was NPP Kozloduy’s CFO before 2020.
Last week, the caretaker Government replaced almost the entire management team of state- owned gas supplier Bulgargaz. A long-time member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and former deputy Prime Minister in the Government of Ognyan Gerdzhikov, Denitsa Zlateva has been appointed as the new CEO of the company, replacing Ludmil Yotsov.
