According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 13 October 2019 has decreased by 2.22 % compared to the same period in 2018 and reached 34.27 TWh. On the other hand, Bulgaria’s electricity consumption rose in the same period, by 1.13 % reaching a total of 29.61 TWh.
Meanwhile, electricity exports dropped by 19.24 % in the same period to 4.66 TWh. The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network dropped by 1.23 % to 957.7 GWh, while RES share in the country’s distribution network increased by 11.52 % to 1,501.7 GWh.
