Electricity transmission system operator ESO recorded a net profit of 95 million euros in the first nine months of 2023, compared to a profit of 44.7 million euros in the same period in 2022, mainly due to lower expenses.
In the same period, ESO’s total revenues dropped to 522 million euros from 665 million euros a year earlier.
The company booked costs for electricity on the balancing market of 139 million euros, down from 255.5 million euros last year. At the same time, costs for electricity transmission halved to 84 million euros.
At the end of September, ESO’s total assets stood at 1.92 billion euros, compared to 1.83 billion euros at the end of 2022.
