Bulgaria: NEK under investigation for 600MW sold in sept-nov 2014

The Ministry of Energy of Bulgaria prepared new rules for sales of electricity, iw was stated in the Parliament by Temenuska Petkova, the Minister of Energy.

She was asked by the socialist Georgy Kadiev about the consequences of electricity sold by NEK without the tender and competition, and about the amount of electricity in the free market.

According to his information previous management board of NEK signed the contract in the period of September-November 2014. Over 600 MW were contracted in the free market, worth LEV 250 million, and megawatts’ prices were lower than the market prices.
