Croatian Energy Market Operator (HROTE) have completed the fifth addition study about situation of renewable energy projects in Croatia, based on data available until the May 16th 2014.
In the Republic of Croatia on the day May 16th 2014, in the incentive system, in operation are 867 power plants on renewable energy sources (RES), and from these sources in the electricity grid of Croatian Electro Power Industry, 316.43079 MW. On the financial side, in the renewable energy sector in Croatia so far has been invested more than half a billion euros.
By installed power in the first place are wind farms with a total MW 254.25000 (14 projects by TS in 2007), the second are solar power plants with a total of 26.98679 MW (145 projects by TS in 2007 and 684 projects by TS from 2012) and the third place is occupied by cogeneration units with a total of 11.493000 MW (4 projects by TS in 2007 ). Parallel with the recent report of the Alliance for Energy Croatia, this is the first time that the installed power capacity of solar power projects took second place which was keeping cogeneration units, and third place power plants on biogas.
During the next year (until mid of 2015) is expected realization of 445 projects with a total planned capacity of 561.9457 MW. This is a result of an analysis of concluded contracts for the purchase of electricity from plants using renewable energy sources, which have not yet been put into operation. Parallel with recent report of the Alliance for Energy Croatia “open” projects was 684, and planned capacity of those plants was 248.32800 MW.
According to the planned power in the first place are wind farms with a total MW 478.20000 (1 project by TS in 2007, and 12 projects by TS in 2012), in the second place are power plants on biomass with a total of 40.91000 MW (2 projects by TS in 2007, 4 projects by TS from 2012, and 5 projects by TS from 2013) and the third place is occupied by solar power plants with 27.82370 (208 projects by TS in 2012 and 199 projects by TS in 2013).
