The Croatian Government decided to reduce the fee for renewable energy sources, from March 1, by 5% for end electricity consumers and entrepreneurs eligible for a reduction in this fee
The RES fee amounts to 0.013936 euros/ kWh for all end electricity consumers, with exceptions provided for end consumers according to the regulation governing the criteria for reduced payment of the RES fee. This fee is used by electricity market operator HROTE to pay incentives to RES producers within the incentive system.
The reduction in the fee consequently leads to a decrease in the annual revenue of the incentive system from the RES fee by approximately 11 million euros. Projections of the incentive system for electricity production from renewable energy sources and high-efficiency cogeneration have been made, indicating that the incentive system will remain financially stable throughout 2024 and 2025.
