Power utility HEP and local company Koncar – Engineering (KET) signed an 11.1 million euro deal to design and build a solar power plant in Dugopolje, southern Croatia.
The solar park will have connected power of 10 MW and its expected annual output of 17.2 million kilowatt hours will be enough to cover the consumption of some 6,000 households, HEP said in a press release.
The facility will be the twelfth and the largest solar power plant in HEP’s portfolio, according to CEO Frane Barbaric.
In the last five years, HEP has launched electricity generation facilitates with a capacity of 90 MW. A project to build a cogeneration plant in Zagreb is nearing completion and a further nine projects with an overall capacity of 120 MW are either under construction or the company is seeking contractors to build them, he added.
Koncar KET is a fully-owned subsidiary of local electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar Elektroindustrija.
