According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in April 2022 amounted to 1,022 GWh, which is 5.6 % lower compared to April last year, when the production amounted to 1,083 GWh.
During April, 439 GWh of electricity or 43 % was produced in hydropower plants, 266 GWh or 26 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 222 GWh or 21.7 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 970 GWh of electricity, 5.1 % more compared to last April (923 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 546 GWh, 3.2 % more compared to April 2021 (529 GWh).
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 61 million cubic meters of natural gas in April 2022, 9 % less compared to April last year. Natural gas imports stood at 226 million cubic meters, 3 % less than in April 2021. Crude oil production stood at 44,000 tons, 4.3 % less compared to April last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 186,000 tons in April 2022, compared to 282,000 tons in the same month last year.
