Greece, Ministry of Energy is planning to set up deadlines for renewable energy projects
, SEE Energy NewsGreek Ministry of Energy is planning to set up deadlines for renewable energy projects which have obtained connection permits from the transmission system operator ADMIE but still have not progressed from the planning phase as a result of failure to submit contract applications in order to free up network capacity held by these stagnant projects.
In total, about 3.6 GW in RES projects have not progressed further from securing network connection permits. The Ministry estimates that some 1.5 GW of these projects will be removed, thus freeing up much needed network capacity.
RES projects that have received network connection permits up to 31 December 2020 will have a deadline of 30 June 2023 to submit their contract applications. Projects that received connection permits between 1 January and 31 December 2021 will have a deadline of 31 August 2023.
