, SEE Energy NewsGreek Mytilineos Group said that it has signed an agreement for the construction of a high-voltage overhead transmission line which represents Greek section of the future Greece-Bulgaria electricity interconnection, expected to further increase interconnectivity in southeastern Europe.
Mytilineos Group signed a contract worth around 10 million euros with Greek electricity transmission system operator ADMIE. It will be in charge of the construction of 30 kilometers long, 400 kV transmission line within Greece, which is part of Greece-Bulgaria electricity interconnection stretching between Nea Santa and Maritsa East substations.
The project for the construction of electricity interconnection in worth around 66 million euros. It includes the construction of the overhead transmission line, underground transmission line and substations, with a total length of 115 kilometers. It will increase cross-border capacity in Greece-Bulgaria direction to 800 MW and to 1,350 MW in the opposite direction. The construction of the Bulgarian section of the interconnection has been launched in 2020.
