Greece, PPC held a retail electricity market share of 63.29 % in December
, SEE Energy NewsState-controlled Public Power Corporation (PPC) held a retail electricity market share of 63.29 % in December, followed by the Mytilineos’ Protergia with 7.6 %, Heron with 7.03 % and Elpedison with 6.09 %.
According to the data published by energy exchange HEnEx, day-ahead prices in December rose by 22 %, averaging 276 euros/MWh compared to 227 euros/MWh in November, while electricity consumption in December increased to 4,488 GWh from 4,109 GWh in the previous month.
Regarding December’s energy mix, natural gas- fired electricity generation held the largest share of 37 %, followed by renewables with 24 %, electricity imports with 19 %, lignite-fired generation with 15 % and hydropower with 3 % share.
