The renewable energy subsidiary of Hungarian state-owned energy company MVM announced the launch of 28.8 MW solar power plant project in the southern industrial park of Debrecen, worth some 29 million euros.
MVM Deputy CEO Csaba Kiss said that the project is supported by a 10.8 million euros EU grant. Debrecen Mayor Laszlo Papp noted that the municipality provided a 52 hectares area for the future power plant within the 710 hectares industrial park.
The solar power plant will generate enough electricity to cover the demand of close to 15,000 homes. It will start operating in October 2022.
