At the auction held on November 22, 2022 on the HUPX stock exchange, the prices of guarantees of origin (GO) continued to rise sharply. Hungarian guarantees of origin were sold at an average price of 8.16 euros per MWh, the stock exchange operator announced.
The higher average weighted price reflects the growing demand for green energy, as for the first time on the organized market, GO exceeded 8 euros per MWh. For the sake of comparison, at the previous auction held in October, a price of 5 euros per MWh was achieved.
The volume of trade in November was 289,967 MWh. 14 participants participated in the auction and 84% of the offered AIB standard guarantees of origin were sold on the most liquid pan-European GO market.
While French, Norwegian and Hungarian guarantees of origin were traded at the September and October auctions, now only Hungarian GOs were traded. However, the offered quantities also this time included French guarantees of origin.
HUPX reminds that on September 20, 2022, it organized the first auction of guarantees of origin in Europe, where all active market participants in any AIB member country had the opportunity to sell GO. HUPX conducts monthly auctions, and the next one will be held on December 20.
