Macedonia, Agreement settlement signed between Makpetrol and the North Macedonia has finally been implemented
, SEE Energy NewsThe Energy Community (EnC) announced that the agreement settlement signed between Makpetrol and the Government of North Macedonia resolving the dispute concerning their respective shares in the gas transmission system operator GA-MA has finally been implemented. The dispute has been blocking the gas sector development in the country for the past 22 years
The dispute has been resolved through mediation under the Energy Community Dispute Resolution and Negotiation Centre, where the parties settled for a 50% – 50% shareholding in GA-MA, and the Government agreed to purchase Makpetrol’s share in the operator. The wholly state-owned gas transmission system operator will now have to be unbundled and certified in accordance with the Third Energy Package.
