Last August, the Government of Montenegro and wpd signed the contract for the construction of wind farm Brajici. The project’s cost is estimated to 101 million euros. The land lease agreement was supposed to be signed in March 2020, but its was delayed due to coronavirus pandemic.
Local company Vjetroelektrana Budva, majority owned by German renewables developer wpd, asked the Montenegrin Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism to issue urban and technical conditions for the construction of the wind farm Brajici.
The wind farm will operate on a market basis, without state incentives and guaranteed purchase prices. The company Vjetroelektrana Budva stated in the request that the site of the future wind farm is located in the municipalities of Budva and Bar.
