Due to the stopping of the operation of the hydropower plants, ESM compensated the lack of the required amount of electricity via imports. In November, 3 million euros were spent on imports of 60,000 MWh of electricity.
Power plants operated by state-owned power utility ESM offered the same price for electricity to the universal supplier in the tender as in the previous six months – 38.8 euros/MWh.
In August, the price of electricity increased by 7.4 %, with the explanation that state-owned energy companies have reduced revenues due to the coronavirus crisis, and investments in the network for uninterrupted power supply are necessary.
