Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in August 2023 amounted to 455,050 MWh, which is 4% higher compared to the same month last year, according to the data from State Statistical Office. 183,595 MWh or 40% was produced at thermal power plants (-23% compared to August 2022), 105,709 MWh or 23% was produced at hydropower plants (+17%), 144,134 MWh or 32% in CHP plants and 13,038 MWh or 3% was produced by Bogdanci wind farm. Production at biogas power plants was 4:226 MWh, while solar power plants produced 4,348 MWh of electricity in August.
Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in August 2023 amounted to 468,411 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 30.42 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 367,100 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 105,725 tons.
100% of the electricity consumed in August was covered by domestic production, while 95.9 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.
