The launch of the reconstruction of 110 kV transmission line connecting Stip and Ovce Pole substations was announced by North Macedonian electricity transmission system operator MEPSO. The project is worth around 1.4 million euros. The statement from the operator said that it is planned that the new line will be built on the route of the existing 17.8 kilometers long line, which was commissioned in the 1960s. The reconstruction project should be completed within seven months and is funded by a loan obtained from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The project is a part of a broader plan of the Government of North Macedonia, which includes the construction or reconstruction of six 110 kV transmission lines within a 15 million euros investment program aimed at modernizing the country’s electricity transmission network.
