Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in March 2022 amounted to 798,667 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 44.74 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 446,801 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 100,788 tons.
According to the data from State Statistical Office, 70.7 % of the consumed electricity in March was covered by domestic production, while 97.2 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.
Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in March 2022 stood at 540,881 MWh, which is by 1.2 % lower compared to the same month last year. 266,348 MWh or 49.2 % was produced at thermal power plants (+ 43.1 % compared to March 2021), 93,005 MWh or 17.2 % was produced at hydropower plants (- 49.6 %), 164,548 MWh or 30.4 % in CHP plants (+ 3.5 %) and 9,844 MWh or 1.82 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
