High operational readiness of facilities, satisfactory quality of coal, and electricity sales opportunities undoubtedly trigger excellent results. – Apart from the capital overhaul of Unit B2 that is expected to last 120 days, the other units are to undergo mostly standard overhauls
According to this year’s Energy Balance of PE “Electric Power Industry of Serbia”, CE “TPPs Nikola Tesla” has to deliver 19,195 billion kWh of electricity to the energy power system of Serbia, which will require more than 28.8 million tonnes of coal. Thanks to maximum availability, high operational readiness and reliability, CE TENT has successfully started implementation of its production plans for this year.
In the first 15 days, TENT delivered 935,536 MWh of electricity to the electric power system of Serbia, which accounts for 95.5% of targeted performances for this period. Ljubisa Mihailovic, Manager at Electricity Production Department of TENT, said that there was a lot of repression in this period, particularly in TPP “Morava”, Unit A2 in TPP “Kostolac”, and Unit A4 in TENT A. In spite of that, TPP “Nikola Tesla A” has recorded excellent results, achieving 102.95% of planned production.
– These indicators point to high operational readiness and reliability of all six production units. On January 9, TENT A delivered record-high 37,340 megawatt-hours to energy power system of Serbia, realizing 114.17% of a daily production plan – Mihailovic highlights. – However, great production results depend on certain preconditions. Namely, high operational readiness of facilities, satisfactory quality of coal, and electricity sales opportunities trigger such results.
According to estimates of our interlocutor, at a current level of operational readiness CE TENT is able to produce, without relying on TPP “Morava” and TPP “Kostolac” which are being suppressed (total power 140 MW), about 70,000 megawatt-hours on a daily basis, which makes about 60% of the Serbian electricity. In addition to high operational readiness and reliability of the units and associated plants of TENT, these indicators also confirm that revitalizations and capital overhauls have been done in a quality manner in previous years. It was just after completion of revitalizations, followed by testing and examinations typical of such complex operations, that a great progress in operations of units TENT A5 and TENT B1 has become noticeable.
– Functioning of both units is very stable with increased power. Although all tests and measurements, and therefore, the optimizations, have not yet been completed, we may say that both units have a higher efficiency than it was guaranteed by some equipment suppliers – Mihailovic said.
Apart from the capital overhaul of Unit B2 in CE TENT which is expected to last 120 days, this year there will be some standard overhauls in other production units as well. Speaking of the last year’s production of CE TENT which accounts for 98.49% of targeted production, Mihailovic outlined that we could be completely satisfied with such a result. If we added repressed energy (cold and hot reserve) to this result, in that case more than 100% of the production plan would be achieved. Targeted performance was achieved by Unit TENT A4, with more than 8,000 hours on the grid, as well as by Unit A6, TENT B2 and TPP “Kolubara”.
– Although the realization of the plan was within reach, we can be fully satisfied with such production results, bearing in mind that the units TENT A5 and B1 were undergoing revitalizations for several months, which lasted 120 and 180 days – concluded Mihailovic.
