Romania: Hidroelectrica eyes Serbian and Hungarian electricity supply market, opens office in Belgrade, SEE Energy News
Electricity producer Hidroelectrica company continues its regional South East Europe market development. After announcement of opening an office in Hungary, Hidroelectrica will open an office in Serbia, Belgrade. Hidroelectrica intention is to start selling electricity directly to the consumers in a market which is entering last phase of power market liberalization.
Hidroelectrica Serbia will have a capital of 550,000 euros owned 100% of Hidroelectrica SA Romania which will be principally engaged in trading of energy supply .
In early August, Remus Borza, Hidroelectrica receiver, announced that the company’s representative in Belgrade will start working in September and one in Budapest at a later date. “Romania will connect to a regional market, common, controlled by Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovenia … (…) We have negotiations in Budapest and Belgrade,” said Borza.
Hydroelectrica is controlled by the state through the Department of Energy .
