In April 2021 the average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 62.8 euros/MWh, which is 146.16 % higher compared to the same month in 2020 and 15.31 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 54.46 euros/MWh.
Traded volume in April reached 2.438 million MWh, which is 26.33 % more than in April 2020, and 1.75 % less than in March 2021. Average traded volume in April 2021 amounted to 3,396.4 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in April amounted to 155.57 million euros, which is by 212.98 % more compared to April last year (49.71 million euros) and 13.54 % more than in the previous month (137.02 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in April 2021 amounted to 51.98 %. A total of 99,253.7 MWh was traded on intraday market in April (197.88 % more than in April 2020, and 5.78 % more compared to March 2021), with an average price of 66.5 euros/MWh (174.18 % compared to April 2020 and 17.64 % compared to the previous month). Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in April amounted to 1.154 million MWh, with an average price of 51.57 euros/MWh.
