In early May, Nova Power & Gas (NPG) will complete its first cogeneration project, worth some 7 million euros. The project was launched in December 2020.
The gas-fired cogeneration plant with installed capacity of 13.4 MW is located in the municipality of Campia Turzii. Nova Power & Gas CEO Mircea Bica said that this is the company’s first investment in state-of-the-art natural gas-fired power plants with increased efficiency and high operational flexibility. NPG is also planning to build a 100 MW natural gas-fired power plant in Romania and to significantly expand its solar portfolio in the country.
The project includes a power unit consisting of two power plants equipped with gas-fired generator sets with an individual capacity of 6.72 MW and the connection to the 20 kV distribution network. The plant is located in the Reif Industrial Park, near the solar power plant with a capacity of 6MW, also owned by NPG, which supplies consumers in the area. NPG and Electrogrup are part of E-Infra, a group of companies active in the field of energy and telecommunications infrastructure, together with Netcity Telecom and Direct One, with 500 employees and annual sales of 100 million euros.
