Romania: Nuclearelectrica signs deal with China Nuclearl Power Corporation for Cernavoda new 3 and 4 reactors
, SEE Energy NewsElectricity producer Nuclearelectrica has selected the company China Nuclear General Power Corporation (CGN) to conduct investment of 6.5 billion nuclear reactors 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda plant.
Nuclearelectrica signed a joint letter the intention of the project, as this stage of the selection process, “according to a press release sent Nuclearelectrica BSE.
Nuclear Power China General Corporation was the only bidder. The Chinese company will be majority shareholder in the project company that will develop investment of 6.5 billion euros.
Nuclear Power China General Corporation was founded in 1994 and is the largest Chinese producer of nuclear power, with 11 reactors in operation with a installed capacity of 11,620 MW.In comparison, the total capacity of the Romanian energy production is about 20,000 MW.
State Department of Energy, 81.3% has of the shares Nuclearelectrica and Property Fund controls 9.7% of the shares. Nuclearelectrica covers about 18% of the annual electricity needs of Romania.
