Romania, Termoenergetica received from Tinmar Energy, a notice of disconnection of 48 plants from natural gas supply, SEE Energy News
In mid-December, Bucharest-based thermal energy producer and district heating service provider Termoenergetica received from its supplier, Tinmar Energy, a notice of disconnection of 48 plants from natural gas supply starting with 23 December and notification of termination of the supply contract from 17 January 2022.
Tinmar Energy stated that the reason for disconnection and termination of gas supply contract is Termoenergetica’s failure pay its gas consumption bills in full, particularly the regularization bill related to the October consumption.
In turn, Termoenergetica claimes that it refused to pay part of the bill because the supplier increased its gas prices by almost 60 %, thus violating the clauses in the supply contract. Therefore, Termoenergetica sued Tinmar, asking the court to force the company to continue executing the contract between the two parties, under the conditions of the clauses provided by it, until its expiration on 30 June 2022.
In the meantime, Termoenergetica obtained in the first instance a presidential ordinance by which Tinmar was obliged to continue without interruption the supply of gas to the district heating provider, at the price initially established by contract, until the final settlement of the lawsuit.
