In April, Ukraine exported its first quantities of electricity from October 2022. Electricity export amounted to 89,700 MWh, according to the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).
Ukrainian Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko said that the country resumed exporting electricity on 7 April as the electricity supply in the country stabilised and production exceeded consumption.
40 TWh of electricity was exported to Moldova, 30.4 TWh to Poland and 19.2 TWh to Slovakia.
Ukraine was forced to suspend electricity exports to EU countries on 11 October last year to stabilise its energy system after massive missile attacks by Russia on its energy infrastructure.
