Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection announced last week the second call for the allocation of 143 locations for the construction of small hydro power plants in the 20 local governments in Serbia.
The total installed capacity of SHPP , which can be built on these sites, is 57 megawatts , and the value of investment is about 130 MEUR. Most of the offered locations are situated in Vranje (22), Krupanj (13), Cajetina (13) and Knjazevca (12).
Potential investors are offered only sites that are fully prepared for construction, without binding documents issued, such as the water acts, energy permits or approvals, location or building permits.
Compared to the previous public call, there are certain innovations that will enable evaluation of potential investors and facilitate provision of documentation for obtaining energy permits, or approvals and commence construction.
Mandatory part of the application is a brief study of each site, which indicates that the investor actually visited the location for which he is interested, and the presentation of the company which is applying . Potential investors will be able to apply for up to 10 locations , and the deadline for submission of the required documents for obtaining energy permit was extended from 6 to 12 months.
The deadline for applications is 60 days or until the end of February of 2014, and the plan is to have memos for each site signed by the end of May in 2014.
