Serbia: Stable production in HPPs Drimsko Limske, News Serbia Energy
In HPP “Bajina Basta” there wasn’t a drop of water spilled over for the past three months, although the inflows on the profile on several occasions significantly exceeded the installed flow.
Within the eletricity balance for 2015, it is planned for the power plants within the “Drinsko-Limske HPPs“ to produce a total of 2,518 billion kilowatt-hours. In the first three months of this year 1,256 billion kilowatt-hours were produced and the production plan was exceeded by 51.94 %. Thanks to the favorable hydrology and good operational readiness of all power units of “Drinsko-Limske HPPs“, such a good production was achieved due to the maximum engagement of all employees.
– An interesting fact is that in HPP “Bajina Basta” there wasn’t a drop of water spilled over for the past three months, although the inflows on the profile on several occasions significantly exceeded the installed flow. This was accomplished by a good cooperation with the Department for Electricity Trading of EPS and the upstream HPP “Višegrad”.
In addition, the engagement of the frontal accumulation of HPP “Piva” was of great help- says Radisav Matić, assistant Director for production and maintenance. – Hydrology is an essential requirement for the good production of hydro power plants, but a high quality maintenance and operational readiness of the units are another important factor for good results. So far, the maximum operational readiness of all units within the “Drina-Lim HPPs” has been achieved. Good occupancy of the reservoirs in the Drina river basin, particularly in the “Limske HPPs”, also promise a good production in the following months.
The Hydro power plant “Bajina Basta”, in the first three months of this year produced 555.74 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and the production plan was exceeded by 40.34 %, while “Limske HPPs” exceeded the production plan by 49.51 %. Pumped- storage plant “Bajina Basta” produced 184.73 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, and exceeded the plan by 105.26 percent. HPP “Zvornik” in the first quarter produced 174.83 million kilowatt-hours, thus excedding the plan by 52.03 percent.
HPP “Uvac” produced 30.69 million kWh and it is by 22.77 percent more than planned, while HPP “Bistrica”, which has been operating without interruption for three full months, produced 167.77 million kilowatt-hours and the plan was exceeded by 48.48 percent, as well as HPP “Kokin Brod”, which produced 31.19 million kilowatt-hours. HPP “Potpeć”, the only run-of- the river hydro power plant within the HPP “Lim HPPs”, produced 78.34 million kilowatt-hours and exceeded the production plan by 66.68 percent.
HPP “Elektromorava” is on a good track to achieve its historic maximum production. Out of the 55 million kWh planned in 2015, HPP “Elektromorava” produced 33.27 million kWh, which is by 66.33 percent more than planned.
Higher energy production by 51.94% in “Drinsko-Limske HPPs“
Higher energy production by 40.34% in HPP “Bajina bašta“
